Downtown Sewer Project Update

TriMet had a good idea, coordinate sewer line repairs with the installation of light rail downtown. Many of the lines are over 110 years old and need to be replaced. The project began this past July and is expected to be completed Spring 2009.
Here's the schedule for Oct 5 to Oct 11:
Sewer Repair/Preparation activities on SW Washington between SW 2nd and SW Broadway avenues)
- On-street parking and travel lane closures on SW Washington between SW 2nd and SW Broadway the week of October 5 between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Right travel lane open
- SW 5th Avenue will be closed between SW Washington and SW Stark, tentatively on October 6 for pipe bursting starting about 9:00 a.m.
Sewer Rehabilitation on SW Market between SW 4th and 6th avenues
- Far right lane closed on SW Market between SW 5th and SW 6th avenues for sewer repair
- Intermittent lane closures on SW Market between SW 5th Avenue and SW Broadway between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. the week of October 5.
Sewer Rehabilitation on SW Taylor between SW 5th and 6th avenues
- Intermittent lane closures on SW Taylor between SW 5th and SW 6th avenues the week of October 5 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
On-going
- Pre-Construction sewer inspection work between SW Oak and SW Mill Streets between SW 4th and 6th avenues
- 2-3 hour partial lane closures at various locations to inspect sewer lines and utilities, flaggers provided as appropriate
