Cascade AIDS Project Red Ribbon Party

cap Red Ribbon Party taking place on Thursday November 20th at 6 p.m. to raise money for CAP (Cascade Aids Project) and bring awareness to World's AIDS Day on Dec. 1st. The party is free and will include food from Red Star, drag bingo, karaoke and a live auction and raffle of more than a dozen weekend stays at hotels across the country (many including airfare or train tickets). Please Join Us for a Fun-Filled Evening. Bingo with Ida Slapter and Katherine Heartburn! Live Auction by Miss Mylar Evening Emcee'd by Poison Waters Karaoke DJ - Raffles - Speciality Martinis Beer from the Oregon Brewers Guild Appetizers from Red Star A specialty cocktail and beers from the Oregon Brewers Guild will be offered throughout the evening for only $5. All proceeds donated to CAP.

• Eavesdropping on Life: An evening of Storytelling with Syd Lieberman on Thursday, November 20, 7 p.m. at Mittleman Jewish Community Center. For adults only, tickets $10.
• Music and More: A Family Song and Storytelling Concert with Bill Harley, Grammy Award-winning artist, on Friday, November 21, from 7- 8:30 p.m. at Parkrose High School. Kids tickets $5, adult tickets $10.
• Free matinee performances at many Multnomah County Library branches on Saturday, Nov. 22. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Macy's Holiday Parade

babbo261 Macy's announced its holiday parade planned for Friday, Nov. 28 in Portland, will follow a new route. The parade is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m. at Lincoln High School, travel north on Southwest 14th Avenue, east on Southwest Alder Street, past the soon-to-be re-opened Downtown Portland store, south on Southwest Second Avenue and west up Taylor Street to an ending point near Lincoln High. New floats this year include a dinosaur, rocking horse, Callie the Caterpillar and the Candyland Express. After the parade, Santa will arrive at the lower level of the downtown store's Santaland , which will be open for photos through Dec. 24.

Oregon Painting Society At Fontanelle Gallery

oregon painting society Fontanelle Gallery presents Oregon Painting Society, an exhibition featuring multimedia works, handmade masks, musical instruments, installation, and a performance by the Portland art collective Oregon Painting Society. Oregon Painting Society is a collective of artists who met while studying at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. Current collaborations delve into the world of witchery, neopagan ritual, and psychedelic transcension, citing influences by Dutch master Pieter Brueghel the Elder's Beekeepers drawing, Scandinavian folk art, Neomedievalism, the irreality of Jorge Luis Borges, the ballads of Joni Mitchell, and the romantic poems of Robert Frost. DIY Eco-Ornaments with SCRAP and Hotel Monaco

ornaments First Thursday in December Hotel Monaco will host artists from SCRAP for DIY eco-ornament making in the lobby. Open to the public, and free to create your own, SCRAP will provide supplies and have artists on-hand to assist. Seasonal ales and Christmas cocktails for $5 donation, non-alcoholic hot chocolate on-site. From 5pm - 7pm All proceeds go to SCRAP.
Throughout December, they will sell DIY ornament kits for a $5 donation at the hotel.
