There is a lot of exciting activity happening in the coalition to make our city a more sustainable place. Don't miss this opportunity to hear about it first-hand from neighborhood sustainability groups and learn how you can be involved.Please join SE Uplift for a presentation and discussion about Civic Ecology: A community systems approach to sustainability. Tim Smith, city planner and principal with SERA Architects, will present his concept of civic ecology and how it could apply to neighborhood-based efforts to address climate change and energy concerns. There will also be a chance to check in with other neighborhood representatives working on sustainability projects. If your neighborhood has a sustainability committee come and tell us about what you're working on. If not, this is a chance to come get some ideas, and learn about how your neighborhood can initiate a sustainability project.

Do you enjoy walking but would like to know more about your rights as a pedestrian? Did you know that pedestrians have the right of way in all crosswalks, marked and unmarked? Have you almost been hit crossing the street when walking or running? Unite with others. Learn more so you can defend walkers' and runners' rights.Light snack will be provided.
