TBA Day Four » Mike Daisey, Monopoly

by shooter

Mike Daisey is probably the best storyteller I've ever seen: funny, smart, subversive, bold, and thoughtful.  Daisey weaves four stories into one with Monopoly.  We learn about Nikola Tesla's war with Thomas Edison over electricity, Microsoft's antitrust lawsuit, the secret history of the board game Monopoly, and the story of how Wal-Mart gutted Daisey's hometown in Maine.  He tells these four stories in parallel, in a single monologue that explores the darker side of capitalism.

Daisey will be performing his most recent monologue, "If You See Something Say Something" Thursday through Sunday.  In it he tackles the secret history of the Department of Homeland Security.  Mike Daisey is a must see.
