How Do I Sign Up to Become a Member of My Neighborhood Association?

Do you live on the inner West side of the Willamette River? Do you know what's going on in your neighborhood?
Do you read about clean-up days in your neighborhood and get-togethers and meetings? Do you know how to get involved?
Most people don't realize that they are NOT automatically a member of their neighborhood association. Sign up today to meet your neighbors at local events and work together to address local community issues.
I first participated in my neighborhood, Goose Hollow, when someone attempted to break in to my house—while my family was home. I felt helpless until I contacted my neighborhood association and got involved.
I've met so many neighbors through this process. Now we chat more when we see each other, email each other if we see anything suspicious, and stay in close contact about everything going on in our part of the city. It's a wonderful, empowering feeling knowing that we are all looking out for each other.
"How do I sign up?" Glad you asked!
Neighbors West-Northwest is an umbrella organization, supporting twelve inner southwest and northwest Portland neighborhoods. NWNW has an easy online enrollment process. Go to www.nwnw.org/new/JoinNow.html, click on your neighborhood link (Arlington Heights, Forest Park, Goose Hollow, Hillside, Linnton, NINA, NWDA, Northwest Heights, Old Town Chinatown, Pearl District, Portland Downtown, and Sylvan-Highlands) and enroll.
You'll need to provide proof of your residence or another membership qualification. This can be dropped off, mailed, faxed, or emailed. If you
are not sure which neighborhood you belong to, contact Angela Southwick.
Come on along and join the fun!
