The Sentinel has a great story about how the Latino community has stepped forward to help the Linnton Community Center through some difficult times. 

At a recent Neighbors West Northwest board meeting, Pat Wagner shared how the Latino community makes extensive use of the Linnton Community Center for weddings, baptisms, and quinceañeras (girl's 15th birthday). The events are important family events and attract large groups.  The center provides an affordable place to hold these events. This relationship has strengthened over time, and as the Sentinel article points out, the center is booked two months in advance. Pat emphasized how important this relationship is to the Community Center.

It's heartening to read how one community will step forward to help another.
