Construction Notes

Welcome to all of the new residents at The Elizabeth ! Move ins began recently and will continue over the next couple of months. We're glad you're here. :-)
The Crane Building on 14th Avenue will be developed into condominiums. You may remember this building as the former home to Cargo. It currently houses the American Rag Company. More details to come. The Cronin Building (by Bridgeport Condiminums)marks the spot of the next Robert Ball project. Unlike The Avenue and Marshall Wells, this building will be leveled and new construction built in its place. More details to come.

Drive Friendly

I just learned that Josh, an employee of Urban Grind was hit by an SUV while crossing Lovejoy (at 12th) last week. This is the second pedestrian hit on Lovejoy in the past six months (A Park Place resident was struck by a car at 10th and Lovejoy). Please be careful when walking or driving around the neighborhood.

Neighborhood Meeting on March 19

Mark your calendars! on Saturday, March 19 at 10am, join your neighbors for a cup of coffee and a light breakfast while you learn the latest about our neighborhood. This breakfast is a quarterly event hosted by the Pearl District Neighborhood Association and gives you the opportunity to meet the Board of Directors, ask questions, make comments and socialize.

ATM Scam

Originally uploaded by pearlgirl . Teams of organized criminals are actually installing equipment on legitimate bank ATM machines, in order to steal both the ATM card number and the PIN. The team sits nearby in a car receiving the information, which is transmitted wirelessly from the equipment they install on the front of the ATM machine.
The equipment used to capture your ATM card number and PIN is cleverly disguised to look like normal ATM equipment. A "skimmer" is mounted directly to the front of the normal ATM card slot that reads the ATM card number and transmits it to the criminals sitting in a nearby car. Here's what it looks like:
