The Columbia River Crossing project invites the community to attend an open house in December. Learn about the project's plans for light rail on Hayden Island and Vancouver, a replacement bridge, and fixing seven interchanges between SR 500 and Columbia Blvd. Public input is crucial to continued project development and success. Tell us what you think about the number of lanes on the new I-5 bridge, the design of the new bridge, light rail and highway improvements. Two open houses will be held: December 2, 5:30pm-7:30pm (Hilton Vancouver, 301 W. 6th Street Vancouver) and December 3, (Portland Expo Center) 5:30pm-7:30pm www.ColumbiaRiverCrossing.org

2008 marks the 54rd year for the Christmas Ship Parade on the Columbia and Willamette Rivers in Portland, Oregon. Please click on the Willamette or the Columbia Schedule links for complete schedules with route details including viewing locations and times for restaurants, hotels and outdoor viewing.The Christmas Ship Fleet averages about 55 to 60 boats between the two Columbia and Willamette River fleets. Both fleets will be out every night for two weeks beginning December 10, 2008 and running through December 21, 2008. The fleet will do a special performance in Camas, WA on Dec. 6th. As we are an all volunteer organization, not all the boats make it out every night. Without the donations from the restaurants and the hotels along the waterfront, this parade would not be possible. The block will be all festive with strung twinkle lights to convey a true Holiday Market feeling. In addition, all the resident shops, cafes and restaurants will entice you with good bargains and sale coupons. During the weekend living Christmas trees will be for sale, we have live music and much, much more. Sales will help support local neighborhood families in need.
