Portland Development Commission Holds First River District Urban Renewal Advisory Committee Meeting

The first meeting of the newly formed River District Urban Renewal Advisory Committee (RD URAC) will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the first floor commission conference room at the Portland Development Commission located at 222 NW 5th Ave.
The RD URAC is comprised of residents, property owners, business owners, community representatives and other stakeholders with an interest in the redevelopment of the River District Urban Renewal Area (RD URA). Members of the URAC will be responsible to:
• Assist project staff in identifying and involving other community stakeholders and partners in public participation activities and urban renewal projects.
• Provide a forum for public discussion on implementation of the urban renewal area plan.
• Provide feedback to the PDC Board and project staff on short and long-term plans and budgets related to implementation of the overall urban renewal area plan.
• Provide feedback to the PDC Board on proposed substantial or minor
amendments to the urban renewal plan.
• Reflect the diversity of stakeholder interests within the URA.
The meeting agenda will include an orientation session and updates on current projects.
