Please join us to explore the question: Do the Environmental Laws, Regulatory Programs and Technical Strategies Work to Improve the Health of the Watershed and Community? Speakers at this conference will discuss the legal & regulatory programs aimed at protecting and restoring the health ofthe Willamette River Watershed. They will also explore the latest technical information and strategies for assessing & cleaning up contamination,preventing recontamination, restoring habitat, and putting the land along the river back to its highest & best use.  

North Portland residents can deposit their leaves for a minimal fee at the location listed below. The leaves will be recycled into high quality compost. Open 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Locations & Dates
Cathedral Park  St. Johns boat ramp area, at end of N Baltimore December  6   Cost $1 per car load $4 per truck/SUV or trailer load $5 per truck and trailer $30 per commercial load (5 yard minimum - larger loads will be referred to commercial recycle centers) $1 discount for senior citizens Only leaves will be accepted No other yard debris will be allowed. For information regarding disposal of non-leaf yard debris, please contact Metro Recycling at 503-234-3000.

 

Every Saturday, 9:00 AM-noon (except major holiday weekends)   Join us for ivy and other invasive plant removal. Meet at the Field House near the Lower Macleay Trail (2960 NW Upshur) at 9:00 AM, then hike to work sites. No activities on major holiday weekends. First Saturday of the month, 9:00 AM-noon   Join the Friends of Tideman Johnson Park in removing invasive non-native species, including English ivy and clematis, and replacing them with native plants. Meet at the SE 37th Ave entrance to the park south of SE Crystal Springs Blvd. Walk down the hill to the boardwalk.   Please bring gloves and dress for the weather.

Regular meeting of the Vanport Project Advisory Committee.  The agenda will consist of an update on Phase III of the project.
