Looking for some family fun activities now that the rains have set in? Check out the world-class storytelling performances at the Tapestry of Tales Storytelling Festival hosted by Multnomah County Library - most events are even free! Events include: • Eavesdropping on Life: An evening of Storytelling with Syd Lieberman on Thursday, November 20, 7 p.m. at Mittleman Jewish Community Center. For adults only, tickets $10. • Music and More: A Family Song and Storytelling Concert with Bill Harley, Grammy Award-winning artist, on Friday, November 21, from 7- 8:30 p.m. at Parkrose High School. Kids tickets $5, adult tickets $10. • Free matinee performances at many Multnomah County Library branches on Saturday, Nov. 22. Recommended for ages 5 and up. • Free Tellabration finale performance on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 7-9:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church in downtown Portland. Continuing a wonderful holiday tradition begun as a gift to our community in 1988, The Grotto's Christmas Festival of Lights welcomes all who seek the true spirit and meaning of Christmas. Through the presentation of spectacular lights, hourly music concerts, outdoor caroling, and other family entertainment, The Grotto's festival surrounds visitors with the traditional sights and sounds of this wondrous holiday season. Few holiday celebrations can hope to compare with the grandeur offered by The Grotto's pristine sanctuary garden setting with magnificent architecture, towering firs, and an angel-covered Cliffside as a backdrop. This community tradition reminds us all that Christmas is a season of joy, sharing, compassion, and peace.
